Frequently asked questions.
General
Q: Who makes the products at Henry Hardwood?
A: Every item is handcrafted by me, one piece at a time, in my small shop here in Jefferson, GA. I’m a veteran and craftsman who takes pride in building pieces meant to last.
Q: Do you take custom orders?
A: Yes! I love working on custom projects. Whether you have specific dimensions, wood types, or a special idea in mind, just reach out via the Contact page and we’ll talk it through.
Ordering & Products
Q: How long does it take to build and ship my order?
A: Most in-stock items ship within 3–5 business days. Custom or made-to-order pieces typically take 2 — 4 weeks, depending on complexity and my current workload.
Q: What types of wood do you use?
A: I primarily work with domestic hardwoods like white oak, walnut, cherry, maple, and poplar. Occasionally I’ll use exotic woods like purpleheart or padauk for accent pieces.
Q: Will my product look exactly like the photo?
A: Since every piece is handmade and wood is a natural material, there will be slight variations in grain, tone, and character. That’s part of the charm—no two are exactly alike.
Shipping & Returns
Q: Do you offer local pickup?
A: If you're near Northeast Atlanta, GA area, yes—local pickup is available. Just choose the local pickup option at checkout or reach out before ordering.
Q: Do you ship outside the U.S.?
A: Right now, I only ship within the United States. If you're international and interested in a product, feel free to reach out and we’ll see what’s possible.
Q: What if my item arrives damaged?
A: I pack everything securely, but if something does arrive damaged, please contact me within 3 days with photos and I’ll make it right.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Because each piece is handmade, I don’t accept general returns—but if there’s ever an issue, I’ll work with you to make it right.
Product Care
Q: How do I care for my wooden item?
A: Avoid soaking with water. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and occasionally apply a food-safe oil or conditioner to keep the wood looking its best.
Q: Are your finishes food-safe?
A: For items intended for food contact—like cutting boards or serving trays—I use food-safe oils and finishes. If you have a specific need, let me know before ordering.
